Any info on this? Do you know if it works better than DialIdol, and most importantly, do the votes count?

Gizmo is computer dialing. There should be a thread dedicated to the GoPhone, so people could learn to use it.

Gizmo should be in addition to your other methods of voting.  Dialidol will run way faster than gizmo because you have to manually dial with gizmo, I believe every 25 calls (instructions in general discussion).  Gizmo works during east coast voting block.  So if you live anywhere other than east coast, you have 2 additional hours of voting.  If you are on the east coast, and if you have a cable modem, you can do both at the same time (just like being on the computer and talking on the phone at the same time).

Yes, the votes do count.

Let us know if you have more questions.

No, I don't think you need another phone line, Gizmo cast votes by "chating with the contact" not making a phone call, http://gizmo5.com/pc/idol/ , you can see the steps of the right part.

Does anyone know if there is any voting system that has remote access?

I have a work computer and I could set up several work computers to vote for Jason.

Ideas?

You wouldn't need remote access if you use DialIdol.  There is a box to click that says "automatic start" or "start automatically" or something like that.  You check that box and the program will start by itself, so no need to monitor any of the work computers! :)

If you have cable modem, gizmo uses the cable modem.  DialIdol uses the regular phone line.    So, no, you don't need a second phone line.  They will both work at the same time.

BUT, if you don't have cable modem, I don't know. We need to find someone else to help with that.

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand.  Last time I used it, it did the same thing as a regular phone, after 11 p.m. eastern time, I just got the fast busy signal.  How do you set up the actual gizmo program to allow you to vote outside of eastern time zone?
(btw, I am in the US)

Hey, what if I'm in the Pacific time zone? What time do I vote.. I read in Castrocopia that I can vote during 6-8 p.m according to the Pacific time zone, and not while the show is aired live in the States, still not clear about that.

HEY check out the right part at this page, http://gizmo5.com/pc/idol/

just like I said before, don't use it to make "phone calls" , you select the contact called "idol voting", and open a chat window with it, keyin "1" to vote, there'll be a list of numbers, choose Jason's number to vote!

RE:Gizmo??
(Date Posted:05/05/2008 10:25 AM)

I'm sorry, I'm not explaining my situation right.  I am using gizmo on a computer that does not have any regular telephone line connected to it.  gizmo is using my cable modem.  I voted the 2 hours that eastern time is allowed to vote.  After 11:00 eastern time, the calls would not go through.  I can't remember if it said "busy" or "cannot be connected" or whatever, but I could not get through after that time.

I'm in the US and I'm in Pacific time.

That's why my question and confusion is about voting more than the 2 hours eastern time.  Can you help me with that?

Thanks!!!
